Billet started as a one man tool and die shop in a small garage. Today it machines close tolerance parts for aerospace, defense and industrial customers as part of Flinchbaugh Engineering, and every person on the team is an owner.
Started by a toolmaker.
Keith Billet finished a tool and die apprenticeship, was drafted and served in the US Army in Vietnam, then earned a business degree on the GI Bill. In June 1972 he put both to work, opening Billet Tool in a small garage in Mount Wolf with a $10,000 family loan. His son Troy joined in 1989 after serving in the US Navy.
Over five decades the shop grew from tooling into close tolerance contract machining for OEMs and first tier suppliers, from prototype through production. In January 2024 Billet joined Flinchbaugh Engineering as a wholly owned subsidiary. It kept its name and its team, and every employee became an owner through the company’s ESOP.

Parts are drafted in SolidWorks and programmed in Mastercam. Certified quality staff measure them with PC DMIS software on our stationary CMM and portable ROMER arm. We keep investing as the technology moves.
